Out and About

Out and About

A Poem by IndiaKnite

The trees, just beyond my

backyard fence, used to be so full

and lively as their fingers reached towards the sky. Now winter has killed them.

No more leaves. The fall wind blew them

all away. All thats left is their rigid branches.

Nothing there but the bones.

The grass has faded from green to a light

brown.

The yellow wild flowers stand strong.

Mimicking the sun.

Drunk and lazy from the rain.

Never fading.
