My Addiction

 

Why a poet?

I mean a novelist,

 that’s something I can work with,

even a journalist.

But a poet, what a hopeless passion this is!

I swear it’s a curse.

-I can get away with a short here

 and there,

but I’m just in love with the moments;

the ones shared between lovers,

be that in heat or in pain.

--A romantic fool is what I am, longing for the past once again.

Submitting piece after piece,

acquiring lost of sleep

and blurry vision.

I’m poet-this is my addiction.

I am a very high level additive personality who is in control. Part of my control is writing. I feel some of the same comfort in writing as I got in the past when indulging in error. I love this piece since it speaks to me and many of us that write. Good writing and bad writing. It's the pleasure of the release of pain and love. Thanks for sharing.
