A Speck of Sand

A Speck of Sand

A Poem by Inda

I'm sitting in the sand,
seeing how the waves search for land.
The beach has been cleared,
a storm is near
And there's a high tide,
cowards ran- afraid to die.

Seagulls fly overhead, searching for food,
I'm still searching for a feeling that isn't so blue.
Stormclouds are gathering in the distance,
Palm trees, the wind's only resistence.
Here I remain just a speck of sand
in Psamathe's* hands.

As aware as I am of all the different ways sand can come at you and what it can get into I still love the white, powdery sand of Florida's gulf coast. That sand's never done me wrong yet. THis poem brought to mind the beach just up the road from our house. I love that beach so this poem made me say, ahhhhhh.

ThAnks Ricochet, glad I could get such a response from you.
not bad sir... nice imagery... I definitely know what it feels like to search for something that will help me feel less "blue"...
