It Is Broken

It Is Broken

A Poem by Inda

I know It is broken.
It was broken long ago, I forget when.
There are no string or rope that can tether
The pieces together.
By now the initial crack is unidentifiable,
I agree the reason it broke is justifiable.
But, If I could just fix this once and for all,
Then I could let down this wall
And all could come in
And bask in the beauty of this fragile, complex being.

Sometimes when things get broken, we just sit there and think, how the heck did this happen? What went wrong? How can I possibly fix this? Where do I begin? We sit there and are left with this sense of loss for what once was. What will never essentially be the same again. We think if we can just patch the pieces together, just get the parts to work, that things will once again start to feel "right".. The complexities, the small unique intricacies, are what makes the beauty and fragility of our "being" so special and wonderful. I really enjoyed this. Awesome job.

You can fix what's broken but you'll always see the cracks

I like this piece simply because throughout, you can imagine the character talking about different things that are needing to be fixed. I was ready to go looking for my dads toolbox in order to help you out here! Haha. Then the end shows us that the character is really trying to fix his life or himself, so he can accept who he is inside and let down his walls, to reveal himself to the world or whoever wants to see. Very well done!
