The Time of The Poets

The Time of The Poets

A Poem by Inda
"

Funny how times change.

"
Remember when naked bodies brought peace?
Then, virgins were a tease
and lust
Was a must
Like jewelry
And divine cruelty.
The poet was deemed Holy
And Bukowski was surely
Mad, his prose a sad fad
Destined to fade away.
-Funny how the years
Erased
Doubts and fears.
Cement hardened
Time abandoned
Artist and poets alike,
Still those remaining fight;
Left the garden,
took to the streets,
Speaking not of the sun,
but the dirt beneath their feet.
