Another Loss

Another Loss

A Poem by Inda
"

Someone tried to make a difference and failed.

"

Another Loss

With little trepidation

he talked of the degradation

present in this young generation

 he held dear.

Said he feared

he must end his career;

He couldn’t steer

them in the right direction.

(Or any for that matter)

Like water

slipping through his fingers,

the troubles lingered.

He humbly accepted defeat,

knew he had been beat;

poor man was no match for the devils on the streets.

Another gallant effort in vain,

can someone please explain?

Must the search for joy bring about such pain?

There are moments of real honesty in your work and I like that. At other times, I think the rhyming is too constraining...limiting for you. I would like to see what happens with your writing if you took your attention off some of these poetic devices a little.
