Circle Back

Circle Back

A Poem by Inda
"

Depression taking hold.

"

Circle Back

It got away from me,

like a wave, a disease.

Now I can’t control it,

it consumes me;

once it was plain, old curiosity.

Now I’ve gone too far,

crossed the line

-raised the bar.

It got away from me,

it’s not easy to admit

it,

but anyone can see,

it’s no longer a choice

or something I want to be.

It got away from me,

cut too deep,

much more than I intended,

though my wounds have mended,

I still feel it gets away from me sometimes.

That’s when I circle back to the words and the rhymes.

Ease the pain,

tighten the reigns.
