The Bookworm

The Bookworm

A Poem by Inda

The Bookworm

The night was quiet,

the fat one quit his diet

and the skinny one threw up.

The old one mumbled, spat in his plastic cup.

The dog barked briefly,

the fly

on the wall

saw it all,

but understood nothing

and the bookworm was left wanting.

Now that's a real moment out of many souls, on a moment, in a moment. Really clever Inda.
Nicely done, for we overlook sometimes, how many different creatures are there at one time. They all live seperately, but are connected here in your write.

Fantastic...
You should read a piece of my dear friend "Luke Ritta"
(not much online here, from the older crew) but he writes brilliant too!

Which is very relatable to yours. ;-) I enjoy that style! well done.

ain't this a weird tale, I am thinking with you though, there is a deeper meaning as always... So, as I sit here thinking about what I see, it makes me ask myself several questions... Why did the fly not understand?... what is the significance to the "action" on a "quiet" night?... and why is the bookworm still wanting?.. what does he want?.... thought-provoking indeed... would love to hear your thoughts on this my weird hours friend...

this is perfect in its simplicity. bookworms are such greedy little gluttons; all those stories to be heard, all that information to know! it's never enough but we still love it so.

i think the fly might wish he hadn't seen it all...

fascinating write here...abstract, in such a good way...

the bookworm is unable to concentrate on reading because real life around him is an interruption...and his focus is slight...the pages left unread.
