Lies and Kisses

Lies and Kisses

Lies and Kisses

Before you hold

my hand,

please try to understand

my heart is cold

and broken too.

This will not repair with an “I love you”,

so hold off for a while,

settle for a smile;

it’s all I can endure.

Lies

and kisses,

both seemed pure.
