Hide and Seek

Hide and Seek

A Poem by Inda

Hide and Seek

I’ll count to ten

while you hide.

-no hiding inside

the den!

That place scares me,

besides is dark in there and you won’t be able to see

anything.

Counting…

Ready or not, here I come!

Ring, ring; I hear the phone.

-Time out!

I shout.

Hello, I pick up,

dad’s on the other side; activate my hiccups.

-No mom isn’t here.

“Well where the hell is she?!” He screams in my ear.

last line you might have meant "Well where the hell is she?"

wow, this did turn...from playful to scary...the abuse, that father who scares the child because he abuses the mother and probably the child too...

Hide and Seek becomes a serious game of survival...

good stuff, Inda.
