It Wasn't

It Wasn't

A Poem by Inda

It Wasn’t

It wasn’t what I did

or didn’t do.

What I wanted

or what she gave.

It was love

or better yet, the pain

and absence

of beauty

in her heart.

It wasn’t one reason

or another.

It was time and the wind.

It was the water

and the sun.

Who I was

and who I’ve become.

wow, you take some pretty simple phrases and turn them into such powerful poetry...

"the pain and absence of beauty in her heart"

i like the title taken from the first two words of the poem.
