She was here for the better part of June,

We shared the stars and the moon.

I knew she was leaving when I first met her

and there would be no forever.

 

No, she was just a summer love,

rare as a Cape Dove.

She laughed with me beneath the sun.

One day she was mine- the next she was gone.
