And I Weep

And I Weep

A Poem by Inda

And I Weep

Goodnight, I whisper

As you whimper

And fade off to sleep.

I’m awakened later as you weep.

Goodbye is hard to say,

But you couldn’t change the way

You felt and so I fade off to sleep alone.

Still, I always stare intently at my phone.

Goodnight, I whisper to myself

At the picture I still keep,

It stands there on the shelf.

And I sleep and I weep.

Having had more than a couple of failed relationships, I can relate to these sad, sensitive words. Nothing churns the emotions more than love, either found or lost.
