I thought of the things you love to do

And found we haven’t done them in so long.

Then I looked at the things we do day to day

And saw it was boring and bland.

I looked at the colors in your closet

And it was all blue, black and gray.

Oh well? Really? If you're not happy with it, fix it, and then post it. In my experience, when a writer says something like that in their author's notes it's because the writer is insecure about the piece and wants to be told "Oh no, silly, this is brilliant!" Well...it's not brilliant. It's good, and it has a lot to say, but now I'm questioning my own good judgment because, well, you don't like it. See what I'm saying? Write it. Post it. Own it. If it's crap, it's crap...but at least you OWNED that crap, and you can defend it if someone says, "Hey, this is crap." This, by the way, is not crap. Get rid of that author's note and never say it again :-p

Actually, I think this is really good! Your description of "Bland" is excellent. An acurate depiction of a relationship that has gone on a long time, yet has gone nowhere. Many will relate to this one. Awesome!
