the rain pours

the rain pours

A Poem by Rachel
"

Wrote this going off a single word: escape.

"
run run run away
darkness chases, light evades
turn a corner,
up a hill, daylight breaks
faster faster faster, go
blood runs free, sweat is cold
arrows dig;
running deep, taking hold
crawl crawl crawl in dirt
almost there? can't be sure
as I see it
I go still, can't endure
the rain pours

Author's Note

Rachel
Ignore grammar: I'm usually quite the grammar officer, but I felt it was necessary to create a slight sense of chaos in the fleeing's narrative.

I feel the descent and the fevered mind spiraling, a quick descent...looking forward to reading more.
