Splashy Splatter

Splashy Splatter

A Poem by inconsistentsea
"

Thoughts during a rain storm.

"
On the floor,
alone.
In the dark,
on my own.

The rain outside
fast then slow,
beats down hard.
A sonorous flow.

The imperfect
pitter patter,
a satisfying
splashy splatter.

Street conversations
drowned out by
precipitation's noise
from the sky.

It is beautiful,
a joy to hear,
this wet music.
But you're not here

There is an emptiness.
A feeling of wrong.
An odd loneliness
despite this liquid song

I want to share this.
I want to share it with you.
Here in the warm dark,
in the warm dark with you.

As the rain stops
a silence drops.
Will you share this
quiet with me too?

JC
very lyrical and as always very west coast, I can almost feel my wet shoes squishing.
