I. 

She will call herself ugly. 

If you are a good friend, you will disagree.

She will have her heart broken.

You will be the first to see her cry. 

You’ve never seen her look this beautiful.

III. 

You will find her slumped over on a couch 

At a house party you didn’t know she was going to,

Passed out drunk and dressed to kill.

IV. 

She will text you, you will reply. 

This will happen repeatedly 

Until you've spoken about everything.

V. 

She will tell you about her crush and you will laugh. 

It’s ok, you knew this day would come again. 

She thanks you for listening. You smile.

VI. 

You will make sure you can feel yourself dying.

VII. 

You will follow her around a shopping mall. 

You pick up the clothes that she points out to you. 

She won’t have bought anything for herself yet.

VIII. 

She will say, “We need to make you look like a girl if you want to get a boyfriend”. 

She will say, “I love you” and “You’re my best friend”. 

You can feel these words biting into your skin.

IX. 

You will drink too much.

You will tell her you love her.

She will reply in kind because she doesn't understand.

You will realise you've been in love with her since you laid eyes on her.
