the day i let you go
i watched the whales swim overhead

i held her hand
i squeezed so tight

time cracked in two
as they pulled you from me

it wasnt easy
i wasnt brave

i felt you leaving
my body felt the change

i stared at the whales
and pretended i wasnt there

Beautifully presented and the message s sombre. I found I was confused by the change from 'you' to 'her' and wasn't able to tell if they were the same person.
