On Hair.

On Hair.

A Poem by Roxanne Aponte

Today,
I walked behind a girl with
blonde hair

She was behind a girl with
brown hair

Around 4pm...

But,

When I stopped to sip my coffee,
she walked past me

I didn't see her face
But from the back,
she looked like she might have
been pretty

Her hair was in a long, wavy
ponytail
which rocked back & forth
like a pendulum

I was mesmerized by
its movement

There were cat calls & car honks
And I thought they were all for her
because,

She was a tall blonde scene

But I suppose,
what's more mesmerizing
Is pigtails

I unintentionally stalked her
for 6 blocks
until she turned left
But I was going straight

I kind of thought that
I wanted to follow her
'til I found out
where she was going

By then I was
already invested,
Anyway
