Remember

I think I was inspired by a song...

You can never forget me

no matter how you try

I am imprinted in your mind 

set in your irises

pigment am I

and time may fade all

each visible entity

but I'll remain clear

I'll stay in your eyes

till they close for the last time

and until then 

wherever you gaze, my darling

you will find

my eyes seeking yours

And yes, I shall haunt you

each moment of your days

as no apparition ever could

so certain am I 

that my passion left 

an indelible mark

such that you can never forget

nor can you lie 

when I am at each turn

you cannot run from yourself

as you did from me

you can try harder, my dear

but I will mirror your efforts

you will never win

even if I were to die

failing to forget me

What an interesting concept. I liked the progression of the poem. You left the beginning ambiguous but managed to gradually narrow it. Your poem perfectly captures the way that someone can engrain themselves in you.

wow...this one speaks of raw passion...!! some things just cannot be forgotten..and you're making sure that 'the one' doesn't...after all you made moments to remember..! And its not so easy to forget 'em !
