Fools Song by Paul Grant

Fools Song by Paul Grant

A Poem by My Name is Brenda and I'm a Writer
"

This is the beginning of a poem written by a dear friend in honor of Valentine's Day

"

If I said I loved you

It would not be a lie

For surely in my passing through

I could not pass you by

I mostly work with mirrors

So each thing's as it seems

But with a thousand semblances

That dream each other's dreams

And only I know what is true

Behind each shuttered eye

But if I said I loved you

It would not be a lie.

Author's Note

My Name is Brenda and I'm a Writer
This is just a poem that has been going through my mind all morning. As I said, it was written by a friend who I haven't seen for a long time...
