A Loss for Words

A Loss for Words

I lost some words. I can make new ones.

While those that I lost were dear –

like lovers who left too soon before the ardor could smolder into indifference.

A wise man once told me

True love is always best managed on the west coast of your dreams.

Is it the same for words?

I think so.

Even now.

My lost words reverberate, regenerate and populate this screen.

May all my friends in the Café enjoy fresh fecundity.

I was pretty sure I understood what you meant and then I looked up "fecundity". Sure enough, I was right.
When we all lost so much of ourselves a week or so go many of us were devastated. Fortunately most folks keep backups of their work and we are now in the process of reposting. But for those who did not have a backup it must be almost unbearable. Each treasure we write is almost like a child to us. We put so much love and effort into these little gems... I can't imagine how bad Charles must have felt.
But, as you said, we can make new words. We can touch people with new hopes and dreams and inspirations. We can kick our fecundity into high gear and repopulate this place with better and more meaningful work. And so we shall!
As Jean Luc Pecard would say, "Make it so!"

I'm not sure I totally understand it, but I like it.

I love this. I can't even explain it. I want to thank you for writing it though. You have a gift.

I reviewed this. I thought I did. I loved these words. So much that I wanted to share them with others. Maybe good intentions are a review.

wow i loved this because its very relatable.. i can recall alot of times when i think of this brilliant line in my head but i cant write it down at the time so i try to just remember it..but then i forget and i feel like a great thing was lost..i try to rack my brain and find it but it hides..lol i think that sometimes the words that float in my head find humor in toturing me by revealing parts of master-pieces and then hidding so i cant find them later..its kind of annoying lol..I really enjoyed the read...and i like the last line..
