A Poem by My Name is Brenda and I'm a Writer
"

More poetry inspired by Driving Across Texas

"

One summer I drove across Texas forever.
Wheels spinning.
Lights flashing.
Cows mooing.
I don't stop. Clouds fall from the sky. Oil wells spill out onto a too brown landscape making it look like a sloppily iced sheet cake.
The kind my mother used to bake.
I drive on.
The highway rises up to meet the cloudless sky. I folllow it.
Better than driving in circles.

LOL... I love your opening line about driving across Texas forever... I live in TX and I totally understand.

I found the flow a little choppy, I needed to read it twice to capture it. Consider moving "Oil wells spill out onto a too brown landscape " onto the next line instead of continuing it with the former.

Other than that I found it an enjoyable read.
