When it snows in October

When it snows in October

A Poem by Christine

Your cowardice is about as appealing

As finding a strand of hair at the bottom of a cold drink;

It didn’t make you any less refreshing.

I just wish I had the foresight

To dump you on the sidewalk

Only to watch you trickle into storm drains

Like the snow that melted on a fall morning.

Everything good about you belongs in a treatment plant.

You tried to derail all the things

Which make me unpretty

Because I’m not as conventional as you’re used to.

I’ll never be like the others

And you’ll never be brave.

It’s a good thing I never loved you

But I still hope you think of me

Whenever you pick hair out of your food

And there’s snow on the ground in October.

You are not one to trifle with! :-) I love this rant. It is well written and very clear. Great images.

Nice.

Christine, this was beyond edgy, I suppose you are ready for a bad boy then is it? Just kidding. This was a very expressive piece.
