Sincerity

Sincerity

A Poem by Christine

What would happen

If you never knew anything about anyone

Except that which hurt them the most?

If you had to present your shortcomings and misgivings

To perfect strangers

Feeding on failure before forgiveness?

If you knew what someone was capable of

Before they were capable of chaos...

Maybe you’re the kind of person

Who thinks about another kind of person

When you’re f*****g someone else in person

And maybe there’s a reason why

We kiss with our eyes closed shut.

Our interactions are superfluous in their everydayness

And only retrospectively do people make any sense at all.

We are

schizophrenic

sketches

of stupidity;

Sincerity

Scarcely

Speaks.
