look what we made, sweetheart

look what we made, sweetheart

A Poem by Christine

when the last

of the living

crawl out

of sink holes

when you eat

your own

toe nail clippings

when you can't

find

a decent cup

of coffee

because everyone

who works

at Dunkin Donuts

went to college

when

stephen hawking

nostradamus

and

adolf hitler

buy s****y weed

from

bin laden

when

the

terrorists

cry

when

the children

don't

when

the sandman

sprinkles

gun powder

in your eyes

tonight

when the poems

stop

being

about you

(and he and she and me and us and them)

when

Father Time

finds

Mother Nature

drunk

on the porch

(again)

splashes water in her face,

holds her hair,

rubs her back

(while her vomit is feeding the homeless)

You will

hear him

whisper

"Look what we made, sweetheart"
