we should have worn hard hats

we should have worn hard hats

A Poem by Christine

you fucked up

your car

on your way

to see me

didn't you notice:

police cars

flashing lights

traffic cones

"ROAD WORK AHEAD"

(the signs were there)

we took off

our clothes

as if

we were wearing

caution tape

(your sock is still on my floor)

you used

a jack hammer

to tear up

the a*s(itwasour)fault

(If they never

paved the roads

to begin with,

we wouldn't

need anybody

to fill in

the potholes)
