You love him not

You love him not

A Poem by Christine

"you love him"

you said

as you bit off a hang nail

"you love him not"

you said

as your fingernail

filled with blood

"you love him"

you said

as you

gnawed at your nails

"you love him not"

you said

as you

gnawed at your nails

(you can't even tell the difference)

falling for you

was like

being

blindfolded

and told

that you're

going

to the top

of a building

and you

will have to jump

not knowing

if something (or someone)

will catch you.

when you jump

and take off the blindfold,

you realize

you were standing

on the curb

where I used

to wait

for you

(at least i jumped)

or

you were like

waiting

for an encore

to your favorite band

who never returns

to the stage

(my hands are still red from clapping)

I really felt the description here. The wording is raw and real.

Hi, thanks for sharing. Would you explain the first stanza, please? I'm not sure if I get your meaning.
The second is a great image.
