Co Workers

Co Workers

A Poem by Christine

I was part of the conversation without being part of the conversation

I used the s****y bathroom to avoid being seen

I left wondering if they were wondering why I wasn't talking

(or worse to find that they didn't notice I wasn't talking)

I came back to take refuge in a cubicle

(and when I say ‘refuge’ I mean imprisonment)

I scored weed for the night

I felt accomplished

(And when I say 'accomplished' I mean incapable)

I work with women

They’re talking about purses

(and when I say 'purses' I mean 'nothing')

They’re talking about 'nothing'

(Do they know? Does anyone ever know?)

Talking about purses is the worst. Scoring weed is an accomplishment.

I like this one. These are the best people. Some people for sure know.

great first line, as well.
This one is fun to read. I like the witty way of describing dealing with bland people. Thanks for sharing.
