Golden

Golden

A Poem by foxcryptids

The world stilled,
and as she spoke
ichor dribbled from her mouth

words of steel
and
words of honey
leaving her audience
grasping for her voice

fistfuls of hope,
a tangible force
they sought to hold
and keep
until they saw
the life she took

she danced in their decay
draining their life
and
replacing their golden thread
with her saccharin smile.
