THERE IS A LAND

The poem has 27 lines. It's a deep anguish at the present trend of Manipur state.

There is a land in the cognizant world,

Whose people’s  arms  are forced to  knots ,

And their limbs have not given any special power to act.

 

There is a land in the civilized world,

Whose people’s  mouths are gagged,

And their hearts have not  any special will to throb.

 

There is a land in the world of man,

Whose people’s are not called human,

And their lives have no right to live.

 

There is a land in the farthest corner,

Whose  people’s breathing is choked,

And their spirits are taken away.

 

There is a land in the terrain,

Whose people can be hunted,

And they can be easily killed.

 

This is the only  land,

Where  soldiers have the licence

To use their barrels at the  innocence.

 

There is a land in the democratic world,

Where there is no judiciary,

No safety and respect for the women.

 

This  is the  land ,

Where there is full of apprehension,

Traumatized daily and  doubtful of life.

 

There is a land in the birth place of Gandhi,

Where  violence is a chief  means of all solutions,

And no meaning of non-violence.
