Consequences

Consequences

A Poem by Jennifer Neuman

The complications

Of my actions

Consequences and reactions

With the pain I see in you

I cannot help but to peruse

The idea that I’m no good for you

So I entertain the thought

But too selfish to let go

I know, yes I just know

That I could never throw

Away the feelings you give me

So again with the selfishness

That dominates my soul

With the pain you go through

I hurt too

Yes, you drag me with you

Until I am neither me

Nor you

"The complications

Great, great write. A girl knowing she doesn't love her boyfriend/husband but keeping him anyway even though she can see he is hurt, perhaps? Then he's dragging her down with him because she refuses to let go.

My favorite lines are "I cannot help but to peruse

The idea that I’m no good for you" Yay! It rhymes! Very nice piece.

This poem picks one up in a whirlwind of fears and words, and leaves you embaressed and hurt on the pavement. When you start to examine the cuts on your legs, you start to learn a thing or two.

Really moving poem, and I agree, the last lines are really great and extremely powerful, nice job.

A powerful poem. I like the last lines a lot.
"Until I am neither me
Nor you"
You told a very good story of action and the final results.
A excellent poem.
