Why I Can't Let Go

Why I Can't Let Go

A Poem by Jennifer Neuman

And this is why I can't let go
The sorrow in your soul
The laughter in your voice
It's a juxtaposed cliche I cannot avoid
Can't wrap my heart around it
Won't make a head nor tail
This isn't in the ordinary
Lovestruck teenager tale
It's like riding on a rollercoaster
Without the safety bar
And this is why I can't let go
Listen to this, listen to that
I'd listen to the rain go pitter pat
If I could stand by your side
Even only for a minute
You would have all of my heart
As if you didn't have it in the start
Yes, this is why I can't let go
Although I may have sworn to do
So many times but I don't know
How it feels to just let go

This was pretty good. I have to agree with Rain though -the first part was excellent but the second part wasn't as good. Could definitely use a bit of tweaking. But still, pretty good. But a work in progress for sure.

The first half of the poem were great. It flowed nicely, though as it got to the end I just didn't see what I saw in the first half. I can see what you are trying to do by repeating the "just let go" bit, but for me it just kinda ruined the flow.

Loved the first half, and improve the 2nd half and this would be a great poem.
Great job, keep it up.
