That Look in Your Eyes

That Look in Your Eyes

A Poem by Jennifer Neuman

Wish I could see the look in your eyes
The fake smile on your face
Put my head against your heart
Just to hear the pace
So much has hit me today
So many secrets I’ve concealed
But with you in your way
I know nothing can be healed
There are no regrets
And this smile is real
But I need you to know
That this is what I feel
So hold your head up high
And spill your heart out to me
For that look in your eyes I can all but see

Great work. I like how you ended and started your poem with the same subject.

"For that look in your eyes I can all but see"
Is there something I missed at the end? It seems like it either wasn't finished or I'm just missing a deeper meaning? Good write though!

In the end the truth will come out. Better to hear the truth and walk away. We can't heal from disappointment. Will always be hiding in a secret corner of the mind to be rebirth. A excellent poem.
