untitledA Poem by Kelly Lynch
Once upon a winter’s eve Wandered here a man of class Who came upon a maiden fair With her heart upon her sleeve She made this man a melted mass As summer came the pair grew fond Their boundless love their hearts did sing Eyes glistened merrily in the sun No thought behind the heads of blond Of what the future soon would bring For as all summers turn to fall The sun must set to rest its face Alas, time came for her to go To him, that’s it, he lost it all Twilight soon became his place Nothing else he’d want to know But her and her angelic face He lives for hope of her return Promise he has yet to show Keeping company with memories of the place Consumed by the past he wastes away As good as dead but wouldn’t dare To leave his lover’s earthly life He hides and never sees the day Still in love with a maiden fair © 2008 Kelly LynchAuthor's Note
