Cliche

Cliche

A Poem by Kelly Lynch

Swallow

heart       Beating rythmically

hide      Under the sheets

Inhale

pulse Taking it's time

stomach     Turning upside down

look away

                  Eyes diverting contact

always        Ready, on your gaurd

exhale

           Facing the enemy

feeling  Light-headed yet?

calm down

even          If you think you can't

                       Exceed your expectations

swallow

                                you'll make it through Somehow

Just reading this made me feel light headed.

I think it would be cool if you made the words on the left say something.
Just a suggestion.

i love structural poetry... it always makes me wonder what the artist is thinking at the time to forcefully shape a poem or does it naturally grow that way? you show wonderful contrast in the last line when the keyword that is on the left throughout the poem switches to the right. great ideas, great poem.
