Now I Lay Me Down To SleepA Poem by Im His Daughter
Now I lay me down to sleep
I close my eyes as I weep My heart's broken, so incomplete I lost my friend, Paul, so sweet We both lived on the same street A few doors away, few hundred feet Where we would watch tv & eat Hugs, kisses our love was a treat For me no love could ever compete I lost my love, a great defeat His heart belongs to Jesus, no beep Gone in an instant, no great feat Taken to heaven, one day we'll meet Jesus I long to share a seat To once again feel our hearts beat Mine died, feels cold, lost all heat I want to feel Paul's heart leap Into my soul like a river, deep Taking hold like ground to a cleat That would be the best, so neat To have no regrets, just be complete To be happy once again, no conceit So I close my eyes & weep As I lay me down to sleep © 2016 Im His DaughterAuthor's Note

When I comment, I comment only on how it makes me feel. Promise no criticism here unless maybe a word .. more..Writing
