As I Walk

As I walk down the dusty grid road

Sunshine beaming down

No cares in the world

Feeling life could not get any better

Clouds appearing in the aqua sky

Clouding over, breeze is strong & warm

I stop look up & feel your warmth shining down

It's getting cooler all of a sudden

Must be something brewing in the atmosphere

Clouds darken & roll in

Sun has no choice now but to hide

The darkness is overtaking it

I look back to see how far I have come

If I should turn back & seek shelter somewhere

I notice there are no trees or buildings around

A storm is brewing & getting quite chilly now

I notice the road I am on is no longer flat

I am looking up at it from where I came from

I have found myself in a valley covered by a shadow

A shadow of dark clouds & rain drops

It sure has become darker & the wind is very cold right now

As the rain falls, I trudge blind through the pouring rain

I am cold, tired & can't seem to find any shelter at all

What am I going to do?

How did I get here?

Why is there no shelter around?

How come there is no one walking towards me?

Why is there no break in the clouds?

How long is this going to continue?

The wind is biting me, it is absolutely bone chilling

the hail has started & the floods have come

I see a spindly little tree off in the field beside me.

I decided to take whatever shelter it can offer me

I am so cold, so desperate to find a way out

Someone help me

Lord where are you?

Why am I in this place?

I am so lost right now

I can't see anything

I don't think I am going to make it out of the storm

I can't go on anymore

I am so alone

I don't think I am going to see the light of day

I should just give up

I am cold, wet & hungry

Darkness is so thick I can't see anything

I am so hopeless right now

I feel it overtaking me

My confidence is gone

The rain is letting up now

The darkness is retreating

I see a glimmer of hope

I am drawing on it

I am not letting it out of my sight

It gives me a sense of warmth

I can feel it

I want to rest in the God of light

I can see the light coming

I look behind me & see the valley is lower than me

I am climbing a hill coming out of the valley of death

There is no other word for it

You God love me

You have saved me

Restored my soul

Warming my heart

Always caring for me

I am no longer helpless

I have found hope

Deliverer, redeemer, saviour

You have rescued me

Taken me by the hand

I thought I was so alone

I see 2 sets of footprints in the dirt behind me

You walked with me through the valley

I am so thankful

I thought you left me

Thank You Jesus

I worship you Jesus

I now know you were on my side & with me as I overcame this storm

I am truly grateful
