A Second

A Second

A Poem by Im His Daughter

I was running through the storm

of what is called my life

I reached out, you grabbed my hand

You wiped my face. kissed my tears

took away all my strife

I reached out, you grabbed my heart

& gave me the grace I needed

~

I was walking through my life

staring at the ground

alone & sad I would not be found

A light came forth, you entered in me

I was warm & freed from the hell within me

Your light came forth, you pierced me

& gave me the peace I needed

~

Not for a second did you leave me

Not for a second did you hide from me

Not for a second did you turn away from me

Not for a second did you show I wasn't needed

Not for a second, not for a second

~

I was crawling through the world

with no place to go

depression & sadness hung like a veil

You appeared in a flash, like a lightening show

You took my fears, held them to the wind, blow

Took your hand raised my head, that I held low

& gave me the hope I needed

~

I was sleeping through life

with not a clue

problem & pains coursing through my veins

You came to my aide, like a swooping dove

Wrapped your arms around me, never letting go

Holding me close to your beating heart

& gave me love I needed

~

Not for a second did you leave me

Not for a second did you hide from me

Not for a second did you turn away from me

Not for a second did you show I wasn't needed

Not for a second, Not for a second

~

In a second you gave me the joy

In a second you gave me the peace

In a second you gave me the hope

In a second you gave me the love I needed

In a second, In a second
