Yellow Hearted (pt 1)

Yellow Hearted (pt 1)

A Poem by J.M.Kauftheil
"

Another morning, another mood. Took up the piece again, and I think it came out a lot better. Working on it in pieces, I guess.

"
In cafes and restaurants
up on my crow's nest, perching
Driven by my fantasies,
from tables of my haunts
I scan the horizon, searching
across the stretching seas
for, as it now seems
land! within Pygmalion dreams

Though stretching, league and league
it lessons not my intrigue
I wait for the sea to send her
on a mild passing wave,
a woman of fine features
attractive though gentle, innocent
lively yet tender;
the Aphrodite I crave
One of those perfect creatures
of Oriental descent

Palest skin and blackest hair,
rounded face and narrowed eye
slender arms and gorgeous pair
of legs, from foot to thigh
hands, entrancing
palm and finger
but only in dreams romancing
does this woman linger

I like the description and how you wrote of desire for the Asia woman. Each line adding to the desire and I like the description of them in the poem. Sometime dreams can lead us to good places. Thank you for the excellent poem.
