Exaggerated Sufferings of the Yellow Hearted (draft 1)

Exaggerated Sufferings of the Yellow Hearted (draft 1)

A Poem by J.M.Kauftheil
"

or "an Ode to Asian Chicks" Something vaguely humorous, I guess. Just the first draft.

"
It's beyond addiction,
this desire turned affliction
My weakness, my problem
is the way I crave them

and how a piece of me dies
and my heart atrophies
when I put on the guise
of a mild, gentle innocent

Perched at my watcher's haunts
cafes and restaurants
where I sit gazing
my chest blazing
my pulse raising
an almost transcendental extent

Growing hot
when I spot
a one, with skin so fare
with blackest of hair
I'm prone to stare
though feeling an incremental torment

        For this distinct woman
of Oriental descent
        tempts me, seduces me so
but still I don't dare
        to run the risk
to give it a shot
        at humiliating myself
before such an amazing
        and elegant creature
who so perfectly flaunts
        those gorgeous legs
and beautiful narrow eyes

So I stay here
never getting started
Until courage overcomes fear
I'm simply Yellow Hearted

Author's Note

J.M.Kauftheil
So, believe it or not, I spent over three hours on this...
Granted, with the television on.
But yeah, it's crap. A Seriously considered even posting it. Only a first draft. Tried challenging myself with rhyming, because I haven't touched it in a while... really weird scheme to it, I guess.
Needs a lot of work - lines added, verses incorporated. I have some elements planned in my notebook, though. Hopefully I'll pick this up again tomorrow night.

A very good poem. In my time I was tempted by the Asia ladies. I was afraid of liking then too much. I kept my distance. Nice flow of thoughts and I like the way you ended the poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
