Empty space in Hearts Play Sad Songs Of GoodbyeA Poem by KATHY SUE SILLSA wife and husband try to hang on to a love that has died.
When did our love grow cold? Ours lips used to tell such a profound love story, but now words cannot express us any longer. At night when the world fell asleep we used to come to life, but now we lay beside each other hoping against odds we'll find our way back to each other.
Denial keeps us hanging on to what we both know has faded into a memory. Bodies that once was passionate with burning embers is now ashes of pain. Wedding rings that was suppose to bind us forever lost there connection. Now eternity means nothing.
On the outside we play house, make-believe we're still in love, but on the inside we bleed the end. Our paths with footprints of romance and love vaished. Love songs cause heart-ache of no return. Sad songs reminds us of what we've become. In the empty spaces of our hearts where love once resided sad songs play a tune of goodbye.
