What is Christmas?A Poem by KATHY SUE SILLSCreative Poetry Group
He stands in front of a tree Snow magically falls to an already white ground Wonderment fills his boyish mind What is Christmas all about?
People singing Christmas carols stroll the streets Silent night, Holy night, he hums along Gifts are bought, wrapped in paper and bows Spirits jolly with Christmas cheer Is that what Christmas is?
Boys and girls play in the wintry snow Anticipation of santa coming to town Hoping their Christmas list made it to the North Pole Worry etch faces in fear that santa caught them being naughty instood of nice Is that what Christmas is about?
Colorful lights shimmer everywhere Christmas wreaths hang on doors Minture santa clause and reindeer stand in yards Franticly he looks about in dismay Surely this must be a mistake What about the baby Jesus?
Nestle high in the top of the tree is an angle Stars brighten the wintery night A smile widens his face as he sees the manger scene Warmth enters his young heart Away In A Manger , he sings Jesus is the reason for the season, That is the true meaning of Christmas
