Remnants Of Me

Remnants Of Me

A Poem by KATHY SUE SILLS

REMEMBER ME WHEN.......

The lemonade sun sparkles its mellon rays

Summer lawns luxuriant with green

Sky coloured blue

Lily-White clouds be adrift

Feathery breeze blows in sweet dreams of love,

we thought would never fade

Autumn kisses the earth

Leaves in varicolor array the trees

Soft whispering wind cause them to dance to the ground

The sun sets in a rainbow of vibrant shades

Snow embraces the landscape in a wintery bliss

Crisp air mingles with warm breath

Crackling fire burns to ember in a fireplace

Body grows cold, i'm not there to cuddle

Crying wind echos a lost love

Spring freshens up nature

Flowers are at their prime

Efforescence buds pop open like umbrellas on a rainy day

Birds whistle a romantic love song

Darkness seeks the night

Brilliant colors wither to black

Pregnant moon spills relucent light

Remnants of me won't let you sleep,

that's when you remember the best is in the past

You have such a beautiful command of the descriptive word. I felt each season pass before my senses as I read this lovely piece. As much as I hate winter, I'm actually looking forward to it if it can be just like this. And while the past does haunt us because it is no longer here, the present is what we can celebrate and the future a gift for excitement. Loved this, Kathy!!!

What an extravagent, heartfelt song that carries over the seasons and speaks of that mark that one life forever leaves on another... lingering always, even in the shadows... Beautifully bittersweet...

Romance mixed with vivid description, your palate is overflowing with colour. So many are the things we rue and regret, the past continues to haunt us.

Enjoyed :o)

It is the romantic fantasy of the old world wrestled to the ground and kissed full on the lips. In a playful match. It inspires a hope of roles icon laced with mead on their breath.
As if you were there .....great picture.

A wistful and poetic piece, with some good, strong imagery. An enjoyable read.

This is spectacular writing! Wonderful imagery in this,. This has sad shadowy undertones, situation and feelings we've probably all had at one time or another. I really like this poem!

Nice imageries...eloquent lines...softly romantic...liked the 'soft whispering' wind that makes the trees 'dance to the ground'
