She Will Go On Wishing

She Will Go On Wishing

A Poem by KATHY SUE SILLS

She gazes upon dancing stars

Melancholy eyes wish for him

A heart yearns to be in his

embraceable love

Days where she felt full,

but now empty

Each night she is lured to the sky

Head tilts back

Eyes closed

Mouth whispers wishes of hope

She watches the stars shimmer across

the canopy sky

Wonders if he is under the same stary night, or is he miles away making a wish for her this night?

He has moved on

Where she does not know

Took her heart as a souvenir

Left his memories behind

As dusk turns to day,

another sleepless night fades

A smile fakes her lips

Pretends the pain is gone

life is okay, but in reality she

waits for darkness to magically reappear

so she can go on wishing for him

a smile fakes her lips...nice play...how often as lovers do we hide what really burns within our thoughts...good job

True love knows no bounds. I read this poem wishing for a happy ending. Anyone who cares for a person this much certainly deserves it.

I would think that with a poetess that can craft ink as good as this, the one who's far away would certainly hear the words upon the whisper of the stars. Wonderful hope and energy in your words, an inspirational piece.

Those wishes in the evening on the first star of the night and drop of a penny in a wishing well. Leave us hoping and wishing for better days and places. I like the desire and yearning of the poem. Thank you for the outstanding poem.

The stars are ever present... to gaze at them, and think of him, is pure poetry. I love this, and have wished on many stars...
Beautiful! :)
