Anticapation sweeps over her.

Hands tap the steering wheel.

Desire bubbles in explosions of lust.

Tonight Henry Fitzoy is going to ask her to marry him,

at least that is what she wants.

The Moon is full tonight,

setting a perfect mood for a proposal.

She thought it odd to be meeting at such a late

hour, the midnight hour.

His cafe called Blood Ties is where he wants

to  meet.

The darkness seems to be his home.

At night he is carefree and happy.

During the day he becomes a ghost.

She doesn't understand him,

but she loves him just the way he is.

The parking lot is free of cars.

Candle light flickers through the window pane.

Romance is written all over this night.

A school girl giggle escapes her lips.

Heat flushs her face.

"My darling, you're finally here," Henry murmurs.

Dreamy eyes stare at her.

Sexual desire becomes almost painful.

Need burns inside like a hot flame.

"Where is your customers?" She asks. "You never

close early," she adds.

Music plays on an old juke box.

He walks toward her with a gleem in his eyes.

"This night is just for you my love."

Hot breath cascades down her neck.

Hands fundle her breast.

Need builds between her legs.

Need builds inside him for her blood.

Tonight He hopes that she'll be his forever.

"Chloe, I love you so much," he confesses.

"Oh Henry, I'm head over heels for you too."

For a moment they dance.

Two love birds caught up in each other.

He was human as she,

not a vampire out for blood.

Would she except him as who he is?

Join him in his world?

"We need to talk, Chloe." He takes her by the hand.

He pulls a chair out.

"This must be serious," she whispers.

He sits down across from her.

"It is."

She picks up a knife to cut a piece of cheese.

"Ouch!"

Blood drips from her finger.

His face contorts with agony.

Strong hands take her finger.

Slowly and seductively he sucks the blood,

savorying the taste.

Bewildering eyes stare at him.

"You don't know what I am."

"What do you mean?" Adreneline rushes through her.

She waits for him to answer.

"I don't want to loose you," he whispers.

"You're not, I would never leave you."

"Haven't you ever wondered why you don't see me during the day?" He asks.

"Yes, but it doesn't matter, I love you," she tells him.

He closes his eyes and bares his fangs.

Silence.

He expects screaming.

"I want you so much right now."

"But I'm a vampire."

"Just shut up and bite me," she begs.

Clothes fall to the floor.

Teeth sinks into neck.

He thrust inside of her.

Sweet relief enters them both.

This is incredible! (I love vampires and vampire lore--especially the underworld films). I think the woman willing to be turned into a vampire because of her love for him is especially profound--this is a gorgeous piece of work, wonderfully balanced in terms of romance, lust, true love, darkness, the man's fear of rejection, and union. Nice work! :))

I love it! A wonderful, sexy vampire poem. Who can resist the vampires bite when he's so darn sexy?

A fun vampire poem. I enjoyed Blood Ties a lot.

A very interesting poem. I'm getting use to vampires with desire of sex and emotion. I was raised with cold heart vampires that would eat you for lunch then talk to you. The story was good. A happy ending? Thank you for a excellent poem.

Love your vampire tale here. Loved the show Blood Ties too. You did a great job on this, its a wonderful and enjoyable vampire story in poem form.

Though written in the form of a poem, it is more of a story at some instances. But that does not reduce the thrilling effect it had on me as a reader. to be honest, I was thinking about the Twilight saga all the while reading this piece. Well written.
