Back When We Were YoungerA Poem by KATHY SUE SILLSRekindle a flame of love.
Years has passed since we married Our love used to be a burning flame Now it is cool like a cold winters rain I want to feel that burning flame again
Chorus
We are older, but not old Plenty of years left to live Our flame is smaller Let us feed the fire Make it burn like it once did Back when we were younger
I want to find a garden Arrayed with beautiful flowers Make a bed of petals Lay you down Make love until our bodies are heated Wrapped in the fragrant scent Like we did back when we were younger
Chorus
We are older, but not old Plenty of years left to live Our flame is smaller Let us feed the fire Make it burn like it once did Back when we were younger
Stars blanket the sky Warm summer breeze Let the top down on our old convertible Ride around town Neck in the back seat Like we did back when we were younger
Chorus
We are older, but not old Plenty of years left to live Our flame is smaller Let us feed the fire Make it burn like it once did Back when we were younger
Go out to the movies Make it the late show Sit on the very back row Share a coke and popcorn Make out until the lights come on Like we did back when we were younger
Chorus
We are older, but not old Plenty of years left to live Our flame is smaller Let us feed the fire Make it burn like it once did Back when we were younger
Forty years down the road We are older, but not dead Let us feed that flame See how hot we can get
Chorus
We are older, but not old Plenty of years left to live Our flame is smaller Let us feed the fire Make it burn like it once did Back when we were younger
