Spit And A Spat

Spit And A Spat

A Poem by KATHY SUE SILLS
"

Fight between husband and wife! (Creative Poetry Group)

"

Symphonic mouths spill cruel words that

ricochet back and forth.

Daggers go deep into the abyss of hearts

where angry crimson blood pools.

Curt attitudes become a hurricane,

demolishing vows taken.

Pretentious eyes glare at one another.

Apprehension moves in as he walks out.

Emotions burst like a dam.

Her life swings from a pendulum of misery.

His absence tangle with the fear of forever.

Anger becomes an inferno of hot tears.

Thoughts grasp her brain.

Reality sets in.

Will he come back?

Doubts speak through a metallic

intercome of worry.

Her being is capacity of remorse.

Words he still loves me becomes her repetition.

Coherant fades as time passes.

She dresses in his shirt.

His scent causes a hypnotic state.

She wraps his sleeves of embrace around her.

Unearthly dreams fill her slumber.

Will he be back?

Lights intrude the darken room.

They meet at the door of forgiveness.

Their bodies silhouette into one.

Love is stenciled in the lining of their heart where forgiveness ignites.

Sometime forgiveness is better then the other choices. I like the story and the very good ending. Thank you for a excellent poem.

This is outstanding! At first I thought it was going to be a poem of betrayel and it turned into a lesson of understanding, love and forgiveness. Well done imagination!

Oh, I can relate. A good domestic spat does feel like a stab wound that is finally healed "at the door of forgiveness."
