Looking Through Shades Of Colors

Looking Through Shades Of Colors

A Poem by KATHY SUE SILLS
"

The meaning of colors.

"

If only the world revolved around blue tranquility

would spread like wild fire in the windy breeze.

People would feel safe and secure.

Composures would be calm.

Black, white, mexican and Indians, we all would

come together hand in hand as if we're cut out

paper dolls, getting along with each other.

War wouldn't survive.

Peace would reign.

If only yellow would surround the earth sadness

would be deleted from lives.

Tears would dry up.

Frowns would turn into smiles.

Happiness would intervene.

Joy would spill from everyone's being.

Optimistic and cheerfulness would live,

causing a warming effect in souls.

If only pink and red orange would correspond

in marriages their would be no divorces.

Love and romance would bring togetherness.

Desire and sexual passion would grow stronger.

    BUT....

Red is everywhere.

Wars are raging.

People are fighting.

No end in sight.

Red as hot as hell's fire destroying the earth,

and anyone who gets in the way.

Dark Red bleeds in,

trying to bring back leadership, courage and willpower.

People need to take a stand to stop the nonesense

our world is coming to.

Black as the night.

People live in fear.

Grief strickens many.

The end of time is nearing.

If only the world would revolve around green

harmony would be seen and felt.

Everything would become fresh.

Growth would rebuild and correct mistakes.

      IF ONLY.....

Beautiful poem with a beautiful message. If only the world was positively colorful, it would be a much better place. I loved the ending. Thank you.

it's understandable that red and black are associated with evil, death and destruction..for what reason I don't know..I love using colours to depict emotions..nice work

I agree with your words. Need more positive color. I was station for many year in South and Central American. They celebrate life by wearing multi-color clothing. I like the description and desire of this poem.
