Memories In The Crystal BallA Poem by KATHY SUE SILLSPondering memories
The brain is like a crystal ball that memories pass through. We ponder them each day. Loveable memories are nestled in the cleft of our hearts for safe keeping. Hurtful memories burn deep, searing the soul, leaving opened wounds. O happy memories heal our wounds that we may be whole once again.
We count our memories one by one, to see what life has done. Memories are infinite. Some we wish to dispose of, others we wish to maintain forever. Redemption from the bad memories we seek.
Our eyes are transfixed on the crystal ball. We smile We cry We're happy We're sad
Standing on the stormy banks of memories, surface becomes slippery. We fall in the depth of sadness. Reaching up we try to pull free. Grasping hold of tiny specks of happy memories, refusing to let them escape.
Do not cater to bad memories any longer. Let the good memories unfold, blossom into a beautiful picture to nature into hope and happiness. For life is memories, and memories are life.
